replacing brake pads......

hey everyone!

has anyone had an experience replacing brake pads of their rx8s? I want to know if it's easy enough for me to do it at home. I'm thinking it might save me tons of money to do it myself if it's really easy. if there is some adjustment to make and stuff then I'll probably take it back to the dealer. any suggestion??

I actually asked for an estimate at the dealer and they said it would cost me atleast 300 dollars just to replace the front brake pads. crazy!

Look in the DIY Thread:

DIY: Section – by Category and Alphabetically

It's easy. You need one special $4 tool to turn the rear caliper piston back in to its seat. Otherwise, it's straight forward.

I'm a novice when it comes to pad changes (I've done three now) and the 8 was cake. Look at the DIY and make sure you have the right equipment. You should be fine.

yup $300 is ridiculous. Brake pads should cost you about $100-$150 for all 4 depending on what pads you purchase. You'll need some brake fluid and the mentioned tool. You'll need someone to help when you bleed your brakes but other than that you can do it yourself.
