Could someone measure/take pics of the stock center caps?
Hey everybody -
At some point in the not too distant future, I'm going to update all the badges on my '94 RX-7 to the newer "Flying M" Mazda logo. One tricky area is the center caps on the stock rims.
I had an inspiration the other day that RX-8 center caps might fit the stock 3rd gen RX-7 wheels.
Attached are 2 pics of a stock 3rd gen center cap - it's from a junk extra wheel I have, that's why the paint is missing . It's about 2.5" across and about 3/8 of an inch deep.
Anyhow, if you have a center cap off a car and wouldn't mind snapping some pics with a ruler, I'd GREATLY appreciate it.
Thanks!
Dale

Thanks a bunch for the help! Looks like it's a no-go - the center cap is just too small of a diameter. Ah well . I know the FD has relatively large wheel hubs, so finding an "easy" center cap might be some work - I'll probably have to get center caps from the '99+ cars in Japan.
Anyhow, thanks again for the help!
Dale

You could cut out of some sheet Aluminum / Metal a “blank” that would fit your older rims then cut out the center to the size of the RX-8’s center caps? Or figure some other way to fill in the gap. Maybe cut out the center of the RX-7 caps to the size of the 8’s?
