transmission or clutch?????????????
so this weekend i went with the same mechanic that i isntalled my clutch with and i told him that there was a weird noise everytime i pressed the clutch pedal, the noise comes from the bottom of the car not inside. so at first he tells me oh yeah that noise is because your clutch pedal is broken which by the way i need to take off an solder, but anyways i tell him that its messed since before he intalled the new clutch which is a stage 3 from f1 racing i bought it on ebay, the only thing is i did not buy a flywheel they intalled it with my original flywheel. so i turned on the car infront of him, because u can only hear the wierd noise when the car is on, an as soon as i turned it on he heard the noise and he said oh yeah thats gonna be transmission problems we are going to have to rebuild most likely he said.
the noise that i hear is like a rubbing kind of vibrating sound
help please

if it does happen to be that what do you think they might charge to fix that and do you think he is right by saying they have to rebuild it

Im sorry to tell you this but I had the same problem and when i push in the clutch pedal the noise goes away.If this is the same as yours Ive been told it is probably the front bearing in the gearbox which is infinatly more expensive hence why I havent done it yet.6 months along its still going strong so good luck

+1 noise when clutch in = throwout bearing. Which your mechanic should have replaced when he replaced your clutch if he was halfway knowledgeable.
Noise when clutch out=normal
Also: Broken clutch pedal is possible. Solder is not an acceptable fix for the clutch pedal bracket. It needs to be welded.

yeah mine had the same problem and it was the throwout bearing.
My clutch was worn out too - so dealer replaced clutch too - but the noise came back within 1000 miles.
So they replaced the throwout bearing again - and now after 2000 miles the noise is back again - what the heck? Very weird.

Ray I'm thinking you should make a business plan on watching what Koyo makes and just go behind them and make a replacement product that actually works. You are 2 for 2 so far.
