time for a new battery?

Hello
I have a 2008 231 with 55k miles on the clock.
The car idles quite smooth, but when I put on the A/C the engine starts to vibrate, if I put on the headlights or rear windscreen heater then the engine struggles.

I noticed when the cold start air pumps swtiches off when warming up, the side lights suddenly get brighter.

Is this a sign that my battery is shot? The other day my girl friend used the car she it sounded like the starter sounded sluggish.

I have checked the battery connections and grounds, I habe also added addition grounds fromn the engine, alternator, etc.

Has anyone come accross this?

Thanks

Antony

Mild vibration from the A/C is pretty normal on the 8 from what I've gathered reading on here. Shouldn't be any violent vibration or anything, check the things mentioned above and also check your motor mounts.
