Steering wheel wobbling

When I'm turning at low speeds, sometimes my steering wheel wobbles alot. I've noticed it does it more when I turn left. (JDM Model)

What would cause this? And is there a site with JDM service bulletins?

Does the Mazda warranty/recalls work at any mazda dealer, or just the one where you bought the car? Because the big problem I have is that our mazda dealer has never carried any RX-8. Because I have heard that there was a recall on some engine mounts which I think might be the problem but they told me I would have to pay, even if it's a recall...WTF

I wanted to check the PCM to see if I have the updated version, but they tell me that all they can do is put my car on their computer and check if theres any problem...Will that tell them if I need a reflash?

And how could I find the manufacturing date or month of the car?

First the wobbling wheel, I would start by checking that your lugnuts on all wheels are tight and properly torqued.

Second, if the wheels are properly toqued, it sounds like something in the front suspension or wheels is broken or bent. It could also be something bent in the steering gear but that is less likely.

Third, if you took the car out of its home market, it is very possible that the warranty will not be effective and you will have to pay for all work. However, the wobbly wheel sounds like it was driving damage anyway, meaning that it would never be covered in any case.

Fourth, if they have information on updates for the car, they should also be able to pull up the build date. You can also look in the front door opening against the virtual B pillar to see if there is a sticker there. Best of luck on the Japanese. You can also try entering the VIN into a Mazda corporate web-site, and see if any information comes up on it. It might or might not. The US web-site allows US spec cars to be entered under an "Owner's" Section and that pulls up vehicle information.

Best of luck.

Could be, but that would happen in a straight as well. He just may not have noticed that symptom.

Well I just changed my original JDM suspension and springs, and put on some Tokico's D-SPECs and it still having the same problem...

My friend says it could be my tyre profile because it feels like its rubbing but I researched it and it's the stock profile...

Read the article at the link below to see if this is what you are experiencing:

If the problem only happens sometimes, I would suspect tramlining. That seems to be more pronounced in this car than in some others.

Having changed the springs and shocks is not changing the whole suspension. It still sounds to me as if you have a bent control arm.

It is doubtful that it is tramlining since he has the symptom turning at low speeds mpre to one side than the other. Tramlining is most pronounced at higher speeds in straight lines, where the wheels catch an edge in the road and it jerks the wheel.
