RX8 Leaking gas from the gas tank

My friend's Rx8 is leaking fuel from the gas tank on the passenger side. Its constantly streaming fuel out onto the floor.
I cant tell if its from the actual gas tank or from a line. There is alot of metal shields around so Icant see.
His car is super low, and he probably hit asomething on the road.

It looks like there is two gas tanks?

ANybody with info on this?

Check for leaks around the fuel lines because the RX8's fuel tank is under the rear driver side passenger seat.

I believe we actually have a "saddle" style fuel tank, due to being RWD. So the tank is actually on both sides.

Yeah, take out the seat as described above and give a look. Could he have bottomed out hard enough to knock the fuel pump and sock loose?????

If it's coming out the passenger side he likely punctured the tank...

The fuel lines and anything that leaks are pretty much on the drivers side.....

But fuel is constantly running onto the floor.
I thought he meant the floor(footwell area) of the back seat?
Maybe I need a clarification from him.

Onto the ground or into the footwell area?

If he has fuel running into the interior he has some kind of fuel line the rest of us don't. There is no fuel lines inside the car...or anything that could get in there either.....all the lines run under the car

I know all lines are under the car, that's why I thought maybe the access to the pump got compromised????? I probably mis-read his meaning.

There is no pressurized fuel in the passenger side...and there are no external fuel lines over there....there are some rollover and vent valves on the top of the tank..but if they were leaking the PCM would freak out anyway.....

Best guess is it's the floor/ground..and he has a hole

Sounds like he punched a hole in the bottom of the tank.

You can also have tanks repaired. Call around to local shops. I had a tank patched in a different car that rusted through. The patch lasted for 2 years and I sold the car after that.

I understand and I'm thicker than that. If the OP would've used the term "garage floor" or "ground" instead of "floor", we wouldn't have had any discussion at all.

Guess I take things to literally sometimes. I also figured that a hole in the tank or in a line would've been fairly obvious and not worth really posting about???????
