I'm extremely sorry for the late reply folks. I was stuck with some unavoidable work and they just kept dragging.

Anyways, today I took the bumper off and got to work. I straightened out the AC condenser fins and sealed around the radiator with foam. The foam was glued to the plastic edges of the radiator with a rubber sealant gum (like Multibond :P) and then duct taped over it just to be extra sure. I also covered up the coolant drain hole and those rectangle looking cutouts that let water out.

Immediately I noticed that my AC was A LOT colder. Back then, whenever I idled the AC would go up in temp a tiny bit. But now it's just ice cold :D

As far as coolant temps, I don't really see an improvement in highway temps. When I entered the highway, coolant was at 201F. I gunned it to 90mph and the temp went up to 212F. Is that normal?

When I let go of the throttle and cruised to a stop, it would drop to 200F or so. It idled at around 212F. It was 95 degrees today btw

I definitely see an improvement But I didn't get stuck in a traffic jam today, so I couldn't check if the temp went up like it used to be. I'll probably take her out at rush hour tomorrow and see what's what. But for now, it's an improvement

My daughter was late geting out of something, so I know I am good like this for 20 minutes.
04 Green I can't thank you enough. This really worked :D At first I was a little skeptical about foam contributing to my overheating issue, but you were right! The AC is SOO COLD now haha. Anyways, about the temps, I did idle the car for around 5 mins with the AC on, the temp was around 206-208F. It did not stay below 200F. Fan issue?

UPDATE

Seems like the foam did the trick. I was idling in 95F ambient temp and the coolant was at 213.8F. I'm gonna seal around more and see if it gets better.

Weirdly, the car only runs hot when I'm under the sun. If I'm in the shade, it would drop down to around 206F. The ambient temp does not affect it. If I'm under the sun, doesn't matter if it's 85F or 95F outside, the coolant temp would keep climbing.

UPDATE

Foam didn't do the trick

Car still overheats in the sun. When it's in the shade or at night, stays perfectly cool.

I've crated a new thread because this thread is about a "random overheat". It's not random anymore. I know that it only happens when under the sun.
