Purge valve solenoid

Purge valve solenoid
2004 AT I've been experiencing my car dying at idle and only after it warms. The purge valve solenoid starts randomly clicking and car will die but only seems to when it is. I've done some searching and can't find a definitive answer. Is it supposed to make this clicking noise? Car seems to run richer and see sunburnt fuel when it is clicking. No codes, car just dies starts right back up.

I installed a new k & n air filter, started stalling shortly after. Since then new plugs, air filter, fuel pump, cleaned maf, and ess did both resets. Car info Banzai racing rebuilt engine, coils, wires air pump, alternator @ 9k. Acts like it loses fuel pressure and dies turn key off and starts right back up. I do here clicking from the rod on the ssv but it moves freely some play where it hooks to lever that goes to the diaphragm with vacuum line.
When the purge valve starts clicking seems like there is more of a load on engine not much idle drops from @830-@810. I unplugged the purge valve while running didn't seem to do much except make it stop clicking. I didn't know if it was safe to try driving with it unplugged to see what happens.
I ordered a new MAF it seems like a fuel/ air delivery issue.
Could a bad gas cap be giving fuel pressure loss? I do get a small evap leak code once in awhile.
Thanks for the help.

Well, in the other post you were about to replace the fuel pump. When my pump became weak, the car would just stall after a few minutes to an hour on the road. That all depends uf I have less than half in the tank and how hot it is outside. After you replace the pump, you won't have to perform any reset, just plug the fuel lines and make sure you plug the power source and fuse back.

I've had 13 rx7's and never had as many issues as one 8. You have to love one to own one that is for sure.

I think it was the factory fuel pump. The stalls occured tonight is just what you said in the other post. The ECU is relearning the fuel trims, stalls once the engine had reached running temp., because you were still able to restart the car without flooding the engine.
Gas cap? It's like it loses fuel pressure even with new pump.
How many drive cycles does it take? Never died before resetting them.
