^ I basically used crazy glue from the dollar store. Put it on all the way around the rubber of the screen and its been over 2 years and not an issue so far. Youre right though silicone mightve been a better option but not sure how they can handle the heat.

Thanks Rotary-Rx8, appreciate the comment.

Have you had this happen more than once. I had it happen, took m cai apart and fixed it...then it returned a few days later????

I guess i will will have to go after it with super glue.

I also noticed that the screens are not exactly perfectly woven, they are inconsistent and the screen sorta cups a little when fitted into the rubber connection hoses. When they are out and not in position, i can pull on it and flatten it out, but once put back into position they start to cup. Did you notice any of these issues?

Its happened numerous times to me. And yes the couplers do "bend". I ttried the super glue thing and i havent had an issue ever since. I didnt need to use alot cause i want to be able to remove the screen if needed. Also MAKE SURE when you assemble them .. that on both sides of each screen the intake tubes are flush .. so theres no wiggle room. Best way i found to do that is start from the throttle body and work your way to the bumper and push everything towrds the throttle body to make sure theres no room for the screen to shift.

Hope that helps buddy

Now heres a question for you lol. Does your BHR midpipe and exoticspeed exhaust sound raspy up top. I currently have it off due to warranty work but above 5k rpm my midpipe made my exhaust extremely raspy. However my donut gasket was toast so that couldve been why (exhaust leak maybe). Also does your idle rattle with the midpipe ?

Nope my BHR midpipe and exoticspeed exhuast has no rattles anymore...definitely not raspy either. It is possible that the resonator of the exoticspeed can cause some noise as well.

I had a rattle early one at idle but it ended up being mainly due to my heat shield, although a particular noise was due to an exhaust resonance issue or so my mechanic thought.

What fixed the resonance issue was putting a peice of window flashing on the heat shield above the midpipe. I would not use window flashing again because i switched back to a cat and it melted everywhere.

Ok just finished taking the aem intake apart, super glued the screens in place and put it back together so slow and perfectly...and it totally paid off.

Car feels so smooth and idles perfectly...thanks for the suggestion Rotary-RX8!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that nothing changes seeing as how it ran really well the first time i drove it last time. Tomorrow will be the true test.

Okay so far from what i can tell, my aem cai is what is causing the hesitation in low rpms and since i didnt know about coupler alignments when i took it off to install the bhr coils, i probably messed something up unknowingly. can you guys give me a description of how the screens (how many are there) and couplers are supposed to be aligned? I read the installation guide but it doesnt mention any screen alignment. thanks.

I just installed my AEM cai. Also did the coolant bypass mod.

Anyone else notice the car runs hotter? Seems like its the cai sucking air away from the radiator, or the fact that there is a huge obstruction in front of the radiator now. Seems temps at idle go up quicker now, and take longer to cool down after getting back on the road.

Fun mod though.
