Oil Pressure Meter...Normal?
Hi, my rx8's oil pressure meter is slightly tilted over to the right side and I have no idea if that is normal or not. I dont remember if it was ever in the middle either. Here is a picture of it. Can anyone tell me if they have this or know anything of it? Thanks

Are you serious?
Don't you have a manual for your car?
I'll go ahead and answer your question, but you'll likely take a whole bunch of flak over this post!
Yes, it's normal right there. This gauge doesn't tell you how much oil you have(so you need to be checking it), all it really reads is that you have oil pressure. It basically has one of three positions. No oil, normal(where it is now), or way....way too much pressure!
Damn it Dannobre....ya beat me to it! Argh!
Actually, I've never seen on read np pressure or full on pressure. Both would be really, really bad!

Yes... think of that gauge as a "yes or no" indicator.
1. If there is any oil pressure at all, it will look like it does all the time.
2. If there is zero oil pressure at all. . . it will read none. Which means your car has long since been ruined. **
**I can't confirm point 2 in person because I've never seen it... it may very well read "normal" even if there is no oil pressure... they say it shouldn't though.

I zoom therefore I am.
i love my RP gauge pod, i dislike the guages they use in their pre-made kit.
I do love my defi gauges.

Electronic gauges are nice, but mechanical have their place. They're 'always on' which can be advantageous and they're easier to install. With a stainless steel line (vs. the cheap poly it came with) I'm not concerned with oil in the cockpit.
Either is better than the almost useless stock "binary" oil pressure gauge.
