Oil leak with Pictures:: Fixed!

Car only leaks when hot. There is an extreamly corroded line going towrads the front bumper, probably to an oil cooler ( which would explain the leaks when hot) that i suspect to be the issue. Replacement costs?

EDIT: A company called Mcgill Hose manufactured me shiney new lines! Kept the factory style fittings, so it was simply remove and replace. Total cost was about 150 dollars, much better than the 750 estimate from mazda, or other exspensive after market systems. Took a few hours and could not retain all the factory clips, but thats nothing zip ties cant fix, especially when working with flexible lines. Thank you guys for all your help, saved me alot of money! Pictures below!!

You guessed it. Oil cooler lines.

Racing beat offers a stainless line kit that they claim is much cheaper than OEM.

I'm sure you might be able to find used ones in the market place if you post a Want to Buy post. But, used might rust in a year or too also.

The problem with that is my rx8 is automatic. Also would it be possible to buy raceing beats kit and just replace the segment of hose that i need regardless of transmission type? I'm assuming the MT requirement is for the 10-4 hose conversion.

Apparently there was a recall done in canada. I live about 2 hours from canada, if I were to drive there would they perform the recall on my car haha?

As soon as they see your US license plate, you're not getting anything for free.

Just take the hose off, go to a hydraulic hose supply company and tell them to make you a new one. Done. Or post up a want to buy thread.

Alright so im taking your advice and going to a hydraulic hose manufacturer, i measure the line that goes from the drivers side (left) to the front engine to be 30 inches. Also needs to be relpaced is the cooler to cooler line, specifically on the drivers side but instead of doing the segmant im going to have the whole line made. I could use some help on an appropriate length for that. Would it be the same length as the cooler to cooler line in the raceing beat system, regardless of my automatic transmission.

I will upload pictures of the whole process once i get the parts I need. Some of the hoses are still in good working condition. I think im just going to put my car on the lift and detail the undercarriage and engine compartment, then coat the intact lines with a rubber spray. One of the problems is that they put this foam sleve on the lines, and all that is doing is trapping salt and moisture and rotting the **** out of them. The company that is making my new lines is call Mcgill Hose, I have been in contact with them for a few days and I almost have all the info i need. A little research and time is a much better alternative to having the dealership do the job.

The blue ones are the ones i want to replace, its made up of a few seperate peices, but it would be simplier to get 2, one piece lines.

06blackAT just wondering on your corrosion. Does it snow there? Salt spray on roads?

OH

Just so there's no confusion, whats the smallest size line that could be used? -6AN -8AN? Do I have to use banjo fittings or can straight fittings be used? I'm having trouble locating these. Thanks, 9k.

question, I know it has been a long time but I have the same problem with the driver side hose. Did mcgill hose and coupling give you a part number when they made you your hoses? I want to order the same hoses you ordered. Thanks for the info you posted, I feel a much better that I don't have to spend a ton of money at the dealer.
