A) Is your car under warranty? If it's not, try B
B) PM MAZMART "6" AKA Sheldon, and see what he can do for you.

installing the o2 sensor is easy as jacking up the passenger side of the car, unplugging the sensor cable (push in, pull out), putting a wrench on the old one, unscrewing it. Then reversing the steps for the new one.

Awesomely hard to do, should take a really long 5 minutes to complete.

i am under warranty...and i think our emissions waranty is like 80k but they said this part is not covered undered warranty.

my dad is trying to get me his price on one since he knows multiple people at mazda, and my brother is going to install it for me, i know how to install it but he owes me free labor on my cars for life.

i am going to take my car back on monday pay the damn 97 dollar diag fee and search for it cheaper...thanks to all you guys for giving me some options though and i might end up using them

seriously tho...97 for diag 100 for install(rediculous) and like 350 for the part.

Bullshit - it's covered under warranty.

It's an emission control, and also the car won't run without it - so how can it NOT be covered.

If it's under warranty still, why would you have to pay the diagnostic fee? My mom had an O2 sensor replaced under warranty, two of them actually. She wasn't charged a diagnostic fee either. Wherever you took it is trying to rip you off!

**** that, O2 Sensor IS part of the emission warranty, same as the CAT, which is 80K/8 years. whichever comes first.

Dont pay them ****, call Mazda up and tell them the situation, then walk into the dealership, get your Warranty Booklet out and shove it up their ***.

i dont want to pay the fee...and i thought it was still under warranty.
can a dealership try and rip you off?

i ended up ordering it thru my dad for 225, its the sensor that controls the A/F ratio and also they know my cat is out but wont fix it until i pay for the 02 sensor to be replaced...i thought something was fishy because it has to do with emissions control and im only at 51xxx miles.

help?? should i call someone or contact someone?

The dealership I go to (Werner Mazda in Manchester, NH) told me that the 80k emissions warranty is cat only. Not saying they're right, just saying that is more than one dealer who won't replace an O2 sensor under just emissions warranty.

and all i gave done to the car is a catback exhaust and rims....dont see why that would be a voided warranty since both my brother and dad work for dealerships and they know the ins and outs of warranties and they say BS on voiding it for that because they get them all the time

im calling Mazda north America tomorrow so hopefully i can get this resolved
