Rx8 stalled at lights never started again?

Hey Guys,

More glum questions im afraid. I live in australia so hot as hell most of the time, about a month ago I was out for a cruise in the 8 and I stopped to pick uo a friend, (had been drive for 40mins maybe so car was hot, then I jumped in the car and it started immedietly no worries, I proceeded to drive maybe another 10mins then stopped at the lights, I stalled it and it started straight away I then stalled it again or it stalled one of the 2 and I never started again. I cranked it and nothing a few little attemps but nothing. The battery then went flat real fast and a friend came out with his 4wd to jump it. It cranked for a bit then even still went flat.

So towed it home. Had a mechanic mate check the plugs front rotor looked normal rear was a little carboned but not too bad, tried a charged battery heaps of cranking and nothing. The exhaust smelt like fuel while cranking and the plugs where def sparking but no start?

I asked my local rotory mech who had just done the 120000klm major service with coils and everything and he said, Its probably done a seal and junked the engine needs a $6500 rebuild. I dont know if thats true or not I really freaking hope not.

Anyway you guy know all so any advise is great.

How much fuel was in the tank, if it was low, the pump may have overheated, do you have fuel pressure ?
