Moonroof leaks anybody have this problem before?
I have a cousin who has a 2004 RX8 and water leaks into the car. I thought it was the window seals at first but it turned out to be the moonroof.
The water leaks on the passenger side and soaks through the headliner at the front corner by the headliner and the window, on the a-pillar.
If you pour water into the inner frame area of the moonroof it drains down the hole in the front. Water does drain under the car like it is supposed to but then a few minutes later the headliner is wet.
If it rains hard, like it does in FL the water drips down and will soak the pass floor.
I suspect that there is a drain attached to the hole in the moonroof that runs inside the headliner and goes to outside of the car.
Has anyone had this problem before?
We haven't gone as far as to putt the whole headliner to see, I wanted to check if anyone had the issue before.
I was wondering if you could plug that hole since there is a drain on the left side if the water would just drain there?
Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't had this problem before, however, in removing the roof of an RX8 there is a drain on both sides, chances are the hose is clogged somewhere.
the other example of the clogged that I read about made the driver's side pedals soaked...
The solution of blocking the drain so it'll all drain on the driver's side won't work very well in my opinion.
I would first try some compressed air or some thin flexible object to try to ensure that its not clogged up. (think coat hanger, but more flexible)
Hope that helps a bit.

Hmm... since the head liner is getting wet AND the floor is getting wet but its still draining to the right place... I'd gather that where the drain hose attaches to the drain pan of the sunroof is leaking or cracked somehow... check there for a bad seal if you can.
The sun roof glass is only held in by 4 screws if I remember, you can remove that to gain better access and probably patch it up with some silicone if that's the case.
