Month 5 @ the dealership & it will be fixed

Seriously. I dropped off my car at the dealership on November 9 2009 with 31,000 miles on it to get the 4th gear syncronizer and a coil replaced, and it is March 10, 2010 and it still isn't fixed. It is laughable at this point. I guess I got free storage for the winter???

Anyway, I posted some time ago about this car, and how they were jerking me around at the dealership saying that someone had already opened the transmission and did 4th gear in by changing it so the shift would be longer (apparently a ball and spring were rolling around in the bell housing when they opened it up?) This is a dealership that said they were waiting on parts for the repair for a MONTH before they had me drop it off, then after they take it apart and call me with the "tampering" problem and I go visually SEE WTH is going on in person only to have the technition tell me that "he is not allowed to order parts till he knows FOR SURE what he needs" So I wondered what on earth I waited for a month for?????

Mazdas final offer to me was to pay $1000 of the $2070.25 bill to fix it and the dealership was going to kick in $300...so that left me with $770.25 which I was not happy with.

I hired a lemom law attorney that also deals with car companies not standing by warranties. I had bought this car used with 26,000 miles, so I really don't know if someone messed with the tranny, but the conclusion was that there had to have been something wrong in the first place. Anyway, this atty ROCKED it for me and after he was done with Mazda (literally 2 weeks after I caled him it was handled), I am only $300 in the hole for the repair and my atty fee. SOOOOOOO, I am just waiting on my check from the attorney. Mazda sent it to him last week.

As soon as I go pay them they say they will fix my car (which they say that 3rd gear was trashed as well) after 4 solid months....we are into month 5 now.

I love my car...I really do....but GAWD I dislike Mazda

This is the biggest problem with Mazda and its Dealership Network ------ Quality varies ... BIG TIME.

if Its me, 5 months? I would rather go totaled the car and be done with it. but I'll make sure I throw all the broken parts into this dealership.

5 months to fix transmission ? ... hell even 5 days is more than enough to fix any fuxking transmission(assume that all parts are in) even parts ordering doesnt take 5 months (for transmission, all parts are ready to go, I just checked)

you should post the dealership name out, and add it to the Bad dealership thread found at another section of the site.

Due to my agreement that I signed with Mazda I probably should not post publicly which dealership I went to. I can say it is in Ohio. We were at a stand still because whenever I had a question, I would ask the servce advisor who would ask the zone rep, who would ask mazda, who would get back to the zone rep who would get back to the service advisor who would get back to me. This sometimes would take WEEKS. I didn't get anywhere calling Mazda myself, I was told that I would get a call, but I never did. So I hired the attorney.

Let me say too that it would have been cheaper for all involved if Mazda just would have fixed it in the first place.
