Lower Control Arm Problem - Picture Attached

I have a 2004 RX8, 6spd manual. I removed the brake caliper and removed the upper control arm (leaving the rotor attached to the lower control arm supported by the lower boot). The lower boot then separated itself (see the picture). I did this procedure on the other side (while removing the stock struts) and it went fine.

My question is, can the separated boot (not sure of its correct name) be put back together and function normally? If yes, how would I go about doing that? Or do I have to buy a new lower control arm (which I am hoping I don't)?

Not sure if this helps. Is this the part you are looking at?

Sorry, no, thats an end link. I will add some illustration to my picture to make it clearer. But basically at the end of the lower control arm, there is a bolt that swivels and has a boot around it (I guess its like a ball joint, maybe thats what its called). The bolt and the boot (the ball joint) has separated from the control arm. Both the lower and upper control arms have this. It is what connects the control arms to the wheel. These allow the wheel to remain straight/level when the control arms are moving up and down with the suspension.

See my reposted picture with illustration.
