Loud whining noise while driving
I've been noticing a whining noise while driving lately, almost sounds like when there's a power steering problem, very similar sound. But it is not a problem with the power steering at all. I can notice the sound more when accelerating, there's no check engine light and no noticable power loss or anything. I haven't done any googling yet but I was just wondering if anyone had an idea of what it could be, thanks.

no sleep til it spools
I can tell you that I have noticed that the Renesis engine does make a 'wirring' sound under acceleration, mostly in 1st and 2nd gear (at least from my experience).
A video of this noise would definitely help the diagnosis along...

Well I can say its deffinitely outside if it's normal operating sound, I know my baby well had her for a while now. I'll try to get a good vid of the sound. Best way to describe it is a whining sound, almost like a power steering problem sound.

Oddly the noise has stopped on its own seemingly, no idea if it will come back or not. It's a manual shift and the gear oil has never been changed I that's what you mean by transmission oil.

couple things it could be. most likely alternator. I've noticed it has a higher pitch since I recently installed a new stereo system and the alternator is working harder. to know if its the alternator check the voltage of the battery when the car is started. also, if you have an aftermarket CAI make sure all the hoses are fully attached, and do not have any leaks in them. that'll cause a loud whine. otherwise make sure all connections are plugged. the engine has a whine anyways but these are just ideas.

My problem cleared up on it's own after a couple days. It wasn't anything with the brakes, I'm leaning toward it possibly being the alternator. Couldn't say for certain since the noise has gone away now. CAI is an abbreviation for Cold Air Intake.
