Hi,

I am noticing a feel or slight hiccup (shutter) at 4,400 RPM. Suggestions?
I have recently took the UIM off and checked the solenoids. Looks like I hooked everything back up though.

I'm having kinda the same problem Mazda said it was the VDI solenoid valve or the airbox needed replacing and i fixed that and replaced the airbox still no luck.

Ahh. I checked the VDI and moves quite well, and looks clean. Not sure when the SSV kicks in though. Maybe we will find some help

The SSV opening varies based on engine load. There is also a minium opening based on engine temp. I don't think anyone really knows the exact opening to load ratio. There might be a map in mazdaedit that outlines their operation. I have not seen any posts on that though.

I checked the SSV. It was dirty so I took it out and cleaned it. Still has the same issue. Also have a P2004 but that kicks in at a higher RPM. Ideas?

Update.
I check Coil #4 and it was toast. The "Pin head" on top was corroded completely. I replaced it and working fine now. I also took the UIM off and cleaned it thoroughly and replaced some gaskets, and blew all the hoses out.
