ok so just got off the phone with my buddy...said they most def. changed out the pilot bearing and clutch collar release bearing

next step...
have them check my motor mounts and the ppf

then...God only knows...**** this sucks...i just want my car back

ok well update...they are pulling the tranny back out tonight...gonna double check the install of the clutch collar (throwout) bearing and then take the tranny to a guy in the morning who is going to take it apart..check in input bearing and input shaft and see what all is going on there...cross your fingers for me that its nothing too bad

ok so we got the tranny back out...kinda getting the hang of it by now! double checked the installation of everything...then took hold of the input shaft and tried to turn it...you can hear the noise in the bearing...sounds like hell..looks like thats it...just thought i would put it on here...i guess i might be one of the first to blow the input bearing...kinda cool i guess

well i'm having the new tranny put in tonight and picking up the old one as well...i should have some good pics of a trashed rx8 tranny to post up! might consider trying to make something out of it! a living room table stand...that's it...right well i'll post pics soon

I guess not, I’m having the same issue, I’ve replaced the clutch, pressure plate, to bearing, pilot bearing, checked my pod is aligned, and the motor mounts are good. Honestly the next thought is just input shaft bearing, possibly the input shaft it self as I believe it’s clearance with the throw out bearing got messed up by the last guy who owned my 8. Tempted to just go out and swap a S2 trans into my S1 as they’re quieter, 5 spd, and appears to be a mostly bolt on connection. Anyone having information on anymore of this, the solution, the cause, or even info on the swap is appreciated.(felt like I should stay to this thread as I’m having the same issue to hope to get it fixed. Would appreciate a service manual pm if anyone has it. It’s an elite ‘06.
