RX-GR8 Zoom

I hope someone can help my with this.

Air from my vents sometimes blow even when it is not turned on. When on heat it blows cold air. I have to put it on defrost then back then turn the ac on and off a few times for it to blow heat. The cold works, just not warm. And I only have this problem about 70% of the time.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I only have 42k miles on the car and half that on the engine.
