Hum From Oil Filler Neck

Hello everyone,

I am getting a very silent hum from my oil filler neck during idle; when I put my hand over the opening, the noise vanishes and I think I feel a very slight vacuum. I do not know whether or not this is normal since this is the first time I have closely listened to the oil filler neck with the cap off.

On start up while the engine shoots up to 2k RPMS, it sounds more like rushing oil.
What do you think?

Thanks

Yes, that's how it works... The vacuum and the noise are both coming from the little vacuum tube connecting the filter neck to the intake accordion.

How the heck did you even notice that, or the sounds of rushing oil???

Never had cap off while car was running. Rebuilt engine, so I am very paranoid and examining things closely.

Also, make sure you oil filler cap has a good rubber seal on it. Those little buggers tend to vanish like a fart in the wind, lol.
