Hot engine?

ok, I may be overly causious here but on the way to work this a.m. the thermostat went midway past the midpoint so i threw the heat on and eventually it went back to midpoint. The car is 39K old (3 years) and went I shut the car down in the garage I expected to hear the usual ticking or fan relieving the engine and I didn't. Do you think I might have a thermostat problem or am I just worrying for worrying sake? It was only 65 degrees out. I dread driving home tonight.

Thanks.

Your fan is not working.

Check the fuses first.

While your at it, its a good time to replace the waterpump and hoses.
