the neutral switch on your transmission is malfunctioning, the updated part (new part) corrects this "cold weather idle shoots up and down" issue.
or if u wanna be cheap (like me), just drive the car around for maybe a mile or 2 at slow speed, it will "free" the switch and idle will be well again (but if it happens too often u might get a CEL)

Ok guys update;
Just noticed that that back up lights don't come on anymore when put in to reverse and the engine light came on today when warming her up any ideas??
Thank
We usually insist on you providing us a CEL code, since it could be anything from "your gas cap is loose" to "your car is on fire". You still need to get the code read.
However, during the clutch replacement the wiring for your neutral switch and reverse switch were either crossed, reconnected improperly, or damaged.
A) The idle hunt is due to the ECU not seeing that you are in neutral and doesn't know what to do with the air and fuel, and is either caused by severely cold weather, a damaged or defective neutral switch, or a disconnected neutral switch.
B) The reverse lights are triggered based on the reverse switch (which also does other stuff)
C) The neutral switch and reverse switch wiring is the white (neutral) and black (reverse) wiring that runs along the top of the transmission and connects into the 4 plugs near the base of the shifter tower. These have to be disconnected to remove the transmission, and are physically compatible with each other allowing for incorrect reconnection. (I did it wrong at first on my clutch replacement)
It's also possible the wiring harness was pinched by the transmission bellhousing and damaged.
Forget about that riwwp! He doesnt know anythinnngggg j/k man haha
Anyway, im willing to bet ur neutral switch, the cel is the netural switch cel too. Cuz after 2 consecutive cycle if he pcm still sees abnormalties with the switch a light will come on. Check the code see if im right :-D (cuz i have the cel too but i just ignore it cuz i know what it does lol)

I made a title change to reflect the problem listed in the first post.
