Are you sure you are not hearing it from the cat? When is the last time you have changed your plugs, wires, and coils? also, pop off your cat and have a look-see inside to make sure it is okay and shat ain't broke loose and is rattling around.

OEM coils are only good for 30K. So, for starters, at least change your coils and wires. and since you have been running your plugs on old coils, I would replace those too. As for your cat, crack her open and have a look see. It may not be the prob, but if it is, you can get a new one for free and just put it on your wall for Emissions Inspections.

Oh, and upgrade your coils. Mazda designed an extraordinary car, but they failed on the coils. BHR is a good upgrade and there are others you can choose from.

Put it this way, you are over double what the coils are meant to last. When the coils go, the plugs go, and then the cat goes. No matter what, your next purchase should be coils and wires.
