Flashing CEL-Rattle in Cabin-Help
#51
UPDATE: so the tech just talked to me, and he said he called up their tech place, ordered him to pressure test the system and it passed. He also had checked the plugs after doing the 2 second crank and pulled them out and no coolant on them either. He said he was switching the wires around, and the one that was misfiring on cylinder, when he switched it, the misfire followed that cylinder, so going to replace the wires. He was saying it could be due to the cold morning we have been having and since i drive mainly only short distances it could be affecting it. He said 2 plugs were fuel fouled i think cant remember. As for coolant smell, he found two hoses not clamped tight enough so that fixed that. I will jus got from here.

I know im thankful for that... I had also switched wires when I had done coils and plugs(autozone)I mean he did say the misfire followed that wire? Does this sound like what could be the culprit to this?

I usually don't put much stock in the rotor 1 vs rotor 2 specific misfire codes (P0301 vs P0302), because it could easily be caused by something that would affect both rotors and the ECU is only noticing on one of the rotors. However, there are some conditions which it does make sense to pay attention to, and that is when you are getting repeatable predictable responses from those codes, such as swapping ignition components and the code following, getting constant repeating misfire codes for one only and the other is silent, etc...
In this case, if swapping the wires immediately gave the code to the other rotor, then yes, it probably was the wires.

Yes, he was saying the misfire had followed to the other rotor, as for the theory with the cold morning, shorter drives(i do only drive 8-16 miles at a time, more like 8, it sits while im at work then 8 again), sounds logical maybe with the bad wire?
Crazy how it only does it when the car sits.

I guess im done with this problem for a while, if it does it, then i mean, idk. No coolant leaks, new ignition system, new Reman. That theory sounds about right, if it happens again then I have no clue what to do. He said idle is still a bit rougher when warm. I think its about time i take care of that vacuum leak here soon lol jus to get that out the picture.

If it isn't solved or happens again, you had best just start learning your own troubleshooting. It will be faster and far less inconvenient Not to mention, your warranty won't last forever.

Yaah thats what I'm really going to have to do. This is all crazy. Yeah Warranty only good until next november. This dealership though has been so kind. They are going to go ahead and put a free set of their wires on also no charge.

Yeah it did it again, this time only after sitting for 2 hours, but does only happen when it sits for long, or cold outside, its 30 degrees today, so ill just take his theory and ignore this for now.
