These babies don't last that long this had less then 30k on them but the car is occasionally tracked.

Option one buy another mount and fill them total cost would be around 200 bux.
Option two buy the bhr mount and be done for under 400, and never worry.


The issue with the stock mount failing being too soft it also has a pretty weak design. The driver side mount might separate like the passenger side down the road.

Do you have header or exhaust mods that will heat up the mounts?

I took my s2 mounts off after 51k, 5 yrs and >20 track days and replaced them with some rx8performance lightweight motor mounts. I was expecting my stock mounts to be bad, but both are actually still good.

The rx8performance ones work well, and should do better with mods that cause the stock ones to fail.

They do allow more vibration though than the stock mounts. Supposedly the steel version is a little better in this regard. They also don't seem to do as good a job at damping out engine rocking, although since I put a lightweight flywheel on at the same time this is not exactly a fair comparison in my car. To be honest I did not really notice much difference in the amount of engine movement. Supposedly, the aftermarket ones are better than stock in this regard, but I never had an issue with this on or off track with the stock mounts.

Not sure, but I thought you could fill the stock mounts if they were broken?

So, basically:

1. Filled stock mount, cheapest solution, but worst NVH.
2. rx8perf style mounts. Cheaper than oem, work well, but worse NVH.
3. New oem mounts. Best NVH, but most expensive. Not recommended with aftermarket header and no heatshield, but otherwise should last many years.

My guess is the BHR mounts will fall somewhere between stock and the rx8perf ones in terms of NVH. They are certainly going to be worse than stock. They may or may not be better than the rx8perf ones.

I had a set of mounts professionally evacuated and filled with 70a shore urethane. A slight bit stiffer than oem but they feel great and not much more NVH. I think most people go with 80a, thats why I choose to go a slight bit softer.
