New Engine I think?? Please advise

ok, so I noticed the last month or so the power seemed to dip in the high RPM's, and the last week I thought it was a bad tank of gas.....just got in from my last drive, and my brother driving his Mazda3 wipped past me like I was driving a Minivan. The power completely disappeared, and the car won't even redline........my foot was to the floor in 2nd gear, and she stops accelerating at 7k rpm's???!!! The engine light is also flashing....I have about 32,000kms on the car.

Now my gut tells me this is no small issue ! And the fact I can have it floored and it takes forever to redline spells "new engine"....Thank god it's under warranty.

Search for 'clogged cat'. Sounds like that may be your problem.
