I need help, my door stuck locked yesterday. I have the inside trim off and can feel the rod from the outside handle to the lock assembly, both the rod moves when the outside handle is opened and the wire from the inside opener moves, but either way the door remains locked. Anybody have any ideas?

ok you guys you need to look for a Actuator that looks like this, i really regret not making a DIY now, but basically you have to find this black box behind your door panel, it is a PITA because you need to remove your danel panel (well almost remove it) to access it. i will try and get a diy together. but just incase i dont or forget, your main goal is to get inside this little black box and pull on the lever to open the door.

Mushkid, I finally opened mine... after grueling hours of nudging and pulling (actually, a whole two weeks) the rod, I finally opened it! Here is the picture of the broken spring and the cut out I've made to access the pieces to open the door.

9krpmrx8, please let us know (1) what exactly the locksmith does to get the door open and (2) how much the locksmith costs you. I think it's info that people need to know. Thanks.

Actually we took apart the door from the inside and started messing with the lock mechanism, got fed up and then got lucky when i went to pull the handle and it just opened. LOL

^ Yep. It was a bitch, I was seriously to the point where i was going to break the damn door open. If it is locked shut there is no real good way to get at it. We removed the panel (bitch), removed the inside cover, window glass, tract, regulator, etc. And then you could bare get at it and getting to that spring is impossible. We tried for an hour or two and then just as we gave up, grungepup tried it one last time and it just unlocked. We have no idea how really, he just had the magic touch. I was seriously about to cause some body damage to get it unlocked when he got it.

If this spring fails and your door is in the locked position you are screwed because you cannot see **** in there or reach anything well. Oh, and if you are not flexible you are screwed.

After removing the lock assembly we found the culprit.

I can confirm that you can remove the panel while the door is locked but you need to be very careful and you need to get the rear door partially unlocked to give you space to get at the front part of the door panel to get it removed.

I haven't put it all back together yet so hopefully we didn't break anything.

I'm glad Grungepup was able to open it before 9krpmrx8 turned green and go-Hulk on the door.
