Coolant leak
Hello i am new to this forum. I have been searching the threads for people having the same issues as me but cant seem to find someone with the exact same issue. I have a 2004 rx8 which i have owned since november '08. I love the car and have never had any problems with it up until a couple of months ago when suddenly it was slow to start. Then one morning i went t start it from warm and it wouldnt start at all. I called for recovery and when they got there they tried to start it and after a couple of attempts it did turn back on. the said I needed some new spark plugs so put 4 new spark plugs on and since then it has started first time everytime but not as quick as it is supposed to.
Now after the last month I have had the problem of my coolant light coming on, and going off, and coming on again. And now my coolant level is running low. There is sometimes a patch of what looks like water under my car when i stop but i have read through some threads and understand that it could be from the a/c. I cannot see any other evidence of a leak outside the car. When i tart the car there is sometimes a sweet smell and there is lots of white smoke/steam coming from my exhaust as i start up and drive the car to the bottom of the road but then that stops. My engine temperature guage however stays in the centre as it always has done, but i'm sure i can smell a burning smell when i first turn on the car. I havent noticed any physical damage such as loss of power or rough idling. I am worried that this is gonna mean a new engine, as if this is not covered in the warrenty there is no chance I will be able to afford however much it is going to cost.
Any held or advice would be good. Many thanks

What is your location? Sounds like you have water coolant leak into the engine. New engine time...in the U.S. Mazda gave us a 8yr 100K mile engine warranty. So are you over 100k?

One Shot One Kill
a starter replacement to the stronger 2007 ones may be in order, the coolant reservoir sensor is known to be fucked up too. mine does that on and off thing, i just keep a weary eye out for my level and everything else seems peachy atm.
