I am sure this has been covered a ton, first post. I live in upstate ny near Albany, I was wondering if there are any places to get my rx8 engine rebuilt; or a better alternative. I got a quote from Mazda around 7000 and that is with only a 12k warranty. It is a manual transmission and when I bought it I was under the impression It was rebuilt; it was not. So I got myself in to an interesting situation. Any help and suggestion would help thanks.

You can get a reman engine from Jim Ellis Mazda for about $3000 + shipping and $1000 core. If you're feeling ambitous and have a friend with tools, you can save on the labor.
