GA Clutch Issue

While i was driving today, i pressed the clutch to shift gear and the clutch pedal stayed stuck to the floor, i had to pull it out with my foot each time. Now everytime i depress the clutch it goes all the way down without having to put much force like i used to and it just stays stuck to the floorboard. I sprayed some lithium grease on it once i got back home hoping it just needed a little lubrication. Fearing the worst. Is this a minor problem or will i have to get the clutch replaced?

Try Google, instead.

Your pedal is broken, needs to be replaced, and even brand-new units could use some sort of proper reinforcement (whether bracketing, welding, or both).

Clutch Replacement

The same thing happened to me about 180ks in the country away from my mechanic. I nursed it back and it turned out to be the trust bearing. I drove into the yard and my Rx* sat for about thirty minutes while they cleared a space in the workshop. It was then almost impossible to change gear and i drove the 20 meter and the bearing went with a real pungent odour -oil and steel. I hed the clutch rebuilt and but evenwith my ks 285000 the plates still had 205 wear left. Ive owned it since new November 2004. Like to know if any one else has got this much life out of the clutch. But like i said, i couldnt find one Pertaining To My Issue. i looked at those threads and they were about the clutch pedal snapping off, not about the clutch pedal staying stuck to the floor.

That is certainly pertaining to your issue. Your pedal is staying stuck to the floor because something in the pedal assembly snapped (Which can be re-phrased as "broke off").

There are many different angles and positions that the pedal can be stuck in when broken. Don't get too heavily focused on the position of the pedal, it's not really the important part.

Mazda has an 8yr 100,000 mile warranty on the clutch pedal to cover the failures. The new clutch pedal will still be prone to breaking eventually.

Only if you are outside of the warranty.

But yes. Replace the clutch pedal assembly. (dealer retail is ~$180)
