Angry Check engine light... no symptoms of problem

Yesterday evening I got in my RX8 and for the first time I noticed that the check engine light had come on. Today I did an ECU reset/clear, and it is still coming on. There are no symptoms of a problem be it rough idle/power loss or anything like that.

The only thing done to the car in the past few days was put gas in it on Friday, and I'm not sure the attendant put the gas cap on correctly (can't fill gas yourself in NJ, and I've already re-tightened the gas cap), and I've read that the RX8 check engine light can come on if this isn't on properly. Any idea of how to clear this light manually to see if it pops back up?

Turn the gas cap a few more times, but it'll take a couple drive cycles to clear the CEL.
You can clear the CEL by disconnecting the battery for awhile.
If you want to make sure the CEL is related to the gas cap, go to Autozone and have them read it for free.

Apparently something is wrong that is why the check engine light is coming on. Weird how you can't fill your own gas but anyways make sure they are putting in 93 octane nothing less and check your cap making sure it is tight. Also take your car to Autozone and have them do a free diagnostic test and get the codes and go from there.

1. State law in NJ and OR That you can't fill your own gas, no idea why. Get some real idiots that do it too...

2. 93 octane only has been in my car.

3. Gas cap has been tightened since last night.

Think I'm going to head to autozone, I was unaware of their free diagnostics.

Thanks guys!
