CEL = Car is choking like hell

So scary, when the CEL is on, will the ECU *cripple* the RPM/Power of the car?

cuz right now my car chokes like *crazy*, and its *very* lack of power, probably 1/4 of what its capable of.

3900~4500 = starting to choke

Above 4500 = Choke like riding a horse, refuse to go anything higher than 5500 RPM.

Free Revving is fine(MEaning Netural, and Rev it up to 8000 RPM w/o much problem)

The power now is so weak that sometimes Im afraid it might just stall and roll back when going uphill !

Hmm ......

Full story is here

Anybody has any ideas whats going on? because seriously I "DONT THINK" its my intake/RB duct causing the problem. OR should I wait for the Hymeee software to come, read the actual CEL code, and post it back here see what happens ?

If the ECU senses certain conditions it will put the car into limp mode, which is probably what you are "seeing". Ya gotta pull the error code(s) and correct the underlying problem(s). Wait for the ScanAlyser or take it to a Mazda dealer, but ya can't do anything until you know the code(s).

I would be willing to bet it is the R flash. I have similar problems that only started after that flash.

Seriously, I've been to my Dealer already.

They're cool about the Intake and stuff I have, they pull the code and they said theres a leak somewhere, but wont tell me what is it, because thats their policy. (They will only tell me if I put the stuff back to stock)

and, while I was there I perform the recall, and yes Im on R Flash now.

The only Mod I have to my car is the New K&N intake and RB Air Duct, theres no way these 2 things can cause all these problems. What are the common problems for it ?

I dont think a Gas Cap problem can affect the car to the level Im getting now.

nycgps... when you're sCANalyser arrives, go to Tools|Options and configure the DTC file to point to the attached file. This will map the codes to descriptions automatically for you.

Best of luck solving your problem

Will do.

It seems that my car is limited to kinda like around no more than 5K rpm now. its really annoying cuz Im sure its not the K&N intake causing this problem.

Cant wait till Monday (When the sCANalyser comes)
