car wont start please help !!!

hi i had my car about a year now and i havent had any problems with it and if i did i usually would let my bf take care of it but i got rid of him . so im all on my own now i went to my car this morning and it was dead no crank just blinking lights !! but i jump started it and it turned on fine but everytime i turn the wheel a couple of inches the wheel will lock and it will either cause the cars lights inside and outside to blink on and off and the radio to go off then on, OR it will just shut off on me then it wont start and then i would have to jump it again to get it started i took the battery to an auto zone where they charge the battery and check it for u for free and they said it was fine, somebody please help me i dont know what to do and my warranty is up =(

how long u jump start it for? if battery is dead as u are stating it seems.. just hook up jumper cables from other car to ur cars battery. Let the other car run while jumper cables are attached to both batteries. Dont start ur car wait for about 10-15 min and let it get a good decent charge. Then while still hooked up start ur car take off jumper cables and take ur car for a nice long drive so u can make sure its charged.

If u just jump start it and ur battery was dead then u take off cables then it will die out quickly cuz there is no cahrge. And if u turn ur car off shortly after u take the cables off It will die out too. So take care for a drive after it was being charged by the other car.

Ur car will be fine.

please get out the owners manual and read it..

if you disconnected the battery you have to reset the dsc and power steering..

turn the wheel all the way to the right, then the left, then back again.. turn car off and start again.

btw, if the abs light comes on you might have a power steering connector issue.

beers

I don't know about your CarPC but as long as it's unplugged I don't see why anything should be draining your car's battery. The fact that you did not reset your steering and DSC will not make your car stall. I'm trying to keep the help simple and level headed....

If your car starts on a jumpstart, you have to drive your car for at least 30 mins at an elevated engine speed (above 3000 rpm). At idle your car does not charge it's battery because the alternator is not working at low/idle engine speeds.

Go for a 30 mins drive on the highway, with the radio off (just so you're not wasting more battery power) and then you should be able to shut it off and start it up without any problems (especially if Autozone said it was okay).

If your alternator was a problem your car would most likely stall while at at any start and stop situation. You wouldn't get very far before stalling, especially on a battery with very little charge.

I suspect your lights are flashing because you are stalling. I don't think anything is wrong with your ECU or anything. Your steering feels stiff because the power steering pump was being under powered in a stalling environment.

Just take each problem one step at a time.... Jumpstart it, go for a long high rpm drive for at least 30mins and then tell us what happened. This will ensure that your battery and charging system is okay.
