car wont start, electrical problem?

im trying to help my buddy start his car... its a boosted 8 with the whole 9 yards.

at its current state its flooded but thats not the issue, ive deflooded 7s and 8s multiple times... we hooked up his microtech to the laptop and it reads 11.2-11.8 volts WHILE the battery is on jumper cables.. when we try to crank it the volts drop down to high 9.x and loww 10.x volts.. everything seems and sounds spot on except it doesnt feel like its getting enough juice to fire up.. i deff think its electrical but idk what it could be.. these trials we tried with an optima yellow top (the one he has been using) and a brand new red top he just bought.. both yielded the same results so i wanna say we ruled the battery out? the car also has a hks grounding kit so it doesnt seem like its that either....

however he did say he heard a spark in the engine bay after he changes his coils... the bhr ones i believe.... tried those and the stock ones and no luck... any suggestions what to trouble shoot?

Check the battery voltage..if it's different than the Microtech reported voltage ...look for a connection on the power or ground to the Microtech that is poor...if they are the same..check the battery

we have 2 batteries, but still no luck, and both of the are OPTIMA, one of them is red and the other is yellow. the new one is red, and the old one is yellow. still no luck...
other options? what are the best place to troubleshoot the ground in RX8? i meant, in the engine bay, bsides the battery one..?

Steve you use to have the mazsport ignition it required different dwell settings did you change it to the BHR specs for dwell? Im not sure i matters but just a thought. Oh and my ground was loose a couple times where the mazsport kit use to ground an extra fuse block on the right hand side fuse box do you know what i mean if not ill take a picture for you just trying to think of every possibility.

If you have 2 dead batteries...you still have a dead battery...so rule that out first....

After that go looking for bad connections....

No multimeter = huge frustration trying to figure this out...so go buy one
