Just to give a quick rundown. HAd new motor put in about 6 months ago, due to not passing compresion. Car has been running fine ever since. Yesterday get in car and turn the key over, all dash lights come on radio play but nothing, car will not even turnover. you can turn key back and try again and repeat about 4 or 5 times and then miraculously it just fires right up. No lag in starter no hesitation nothing. Any ideas what might be going on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you have a manual transmission it could be the switch on the clutch that lets it know that is been pressed all the way to the floor before it will engage the ignition. If you have an automatic transmission it could be that the linkage is loose and you're not all the way in park. You can try wiggling around the stick to see if it will start or try to start it in neutral.

cool... something else i have learned, did'nt know they had a switch to confirm clutch pressed for ignition start up..
any joys ngtumlin..?
