A/C blowing from cold to warm to cold; varies w/ RPM
I am a new 8 owner and live in Houston. It is warming up and my A/C is acting up. It will be blowing cold and then just start blowing warm air. If I give it a bit of a rev, it blows cold again. At a stop light or in traffic it gets too warm for my tastes! I REALLY need to fix this ASAP before the 95+ degree weather arrives. Is this an A/C Amplifier issue? Compressor?

I took mine in Friday for the same issuer, however I have an 04. My unit was replaced once already when I first purchased the car. Service said there is a new recall. I haven't found it yet. I go back tomorrow as they could not deal with the issue on Friday. If I find out the recall is a/c related I will post again.

The RX-8 isn't exactly known for having a strong AC, but there is a service bulletin out for 04s. Under it Mazda will replace your AC Amplifier. I had it done a few months ago and did notice a small improvement. This also sets the AC to recirc by default.

If you're out of warranty or have already had this done, I believe that there are a few other tricks around the forum, such as wrapping the ac line in the engine bay.

Thank you
Thank you BOTH! I had found the site in the meantime. LOL Dealership had my car 3 days..They found a leak in the compressor that had been previously replaced. It is still not right so I will be taking it back. Also had the update done and the door lock replaced. Now I need to find REASONABLE seat repair.
