Banging from underneath the pedals

UPDATE!!!
So now my banging problem is getting way worse. When I drive around 60 my car starts to make the banging sound around my pedals and move all of the way back towards the drivers seat and sometimes even sounds like it is coming from beneath my shifter (I have an AT). It also begins to sound as if there is something rubbing against one of my belts because it smells almost like burning rubber and makes a ''whoosing sound' like something rubbing really fast against rubber. Also my steering seems to be very loose and my suspension seems very rough. I don't see any power loss at any RPM range so I don't think it is my engine.

When I am driving on the highway my car makes a weird sound like there is something banging around underneath the car right by my pedals. I can feel it slow down as my car slows down and it can be described as a ''pitter-patter'' sound. I just installed a AP midpipe last week and I made sure all of the bolts are secure and I don't think it is falling off at all. It sounds possibly like a bolt bouncing around since it is more of a random set of bangs, not like a constant beat that is the same pitch. I don't know how else to describe it.

thanks

Did you remember to install the rear grommet for the midpipe onto the hanger?
This can be a difficult one without actually being there to hear it.

Yea the rear grommet is hooked up. I had a buddy that knows a lot more about cars than me drive the 8 and he heard the sound too. He thought that it might be something wrong with my front strut.

Motor mount? How does it idle?

Endlinks? Sway bushings?

Struts ( already mentioned)

I was thinking it might be a motor mount because sometimes when I stop at a stop sign or light my car makes kind of a heavy thunk, but it does not sound like the same sound at all and doesn't come from the same location (beneath the car). I certainly don't know too much about cars though to rule any thing out. My friend said he thought it might have to do with the front strut somewhere, and now that my handling is starting to suffer I think that might be the case. I am going to take it to a shop tomorrow to see what they think. But all of your ideas are welcomed! thanks
