airbag reset?

Ok the airbag on the passenger side seat went off in my 05 RX8, I am getting a new airbag and would like to do things myself to save on the money. Can the modual be reset by myself or does anyone here do it for cheap? I see it on ebay for like $20 plus shipping, has anyone done that before? What's the best bet?
O, and also wondering what the cheapest way to replace the key is, I've seen that on ebay too, and the one seller will sell two blank keys with remotes for like $75, is that a great price? You would still need to take that to a dealer to be cut and programed? I'm new here so please help, thanks

I believe the keys you can just buy and have duplicated then follow the procedure on how to program the key to your car. It's in the DIY section. I don't know anything about the air bag, but are you getting a CEL from it?

No. Th remotes can be programmed by you, but the keys have to be laser cut.

for airbags, just connect them and it should be fine (never heard of programming it, correct if wrong)

for keys, cut them anywhere, then program it yourself. this assumes that you already have 2 working key.

if you have only 1, you need to visit dealership.

Yea, I just put the air bag in, click the one and only wire, and the air bag went it nice and easy, a monkey could have done it. I called and talked to a dealer about this and they said the service would be about $190? I get the flashing air bag on my dash, so not sure if I need to reset the airbag module? It's on ebay so do I really need to get this re-set? or is that just throwing money away? LMK

Foxed.ca - Mazda RX-7 Manuals

the number of times it flashes is the actual code, so then you need to just look it up in the book. repair appropriately.

all of my airbag lights have been due to bad connections

or you can just put in resistors and the module will think it's there, then it'll stop flashing.
