Air Bag/Front Seat Belt Pretensioner System Warning Light

This light came on sometime last week out of nowhere, while normally driving. Any idea what the problem may be? Don't want to end up in an accident without an air bag working. My warranty is up so I'm hoping to resolve the problem without taking it to a dealership. Thanks

Have you checked the harness under the seats?
This is a known issue and has been discussed before.
Unplug and reconnect the harness (which you'll see next to the seat rail).

Bingo! And there is also one behind the glove box, but I hope you don't have to get to that one, it's a lot harder. Check those under the passenger seat as Jon says.....that's usually it.

Regards,
I'm new in this forum, so be gentle with me...
Yesterday I got this warming light too. It just came on out of nowhere. I notice that, when I start the car (BTW I have mazda 6, year 2004), the light is blinking 4 times (pause), 8 times (pause) and after that stays on. I tried to find the connectors for sensors under the seat. I saw that under driver seat there are two connectors (one with only two wires, and the other one is with 4 wires). My questions are:
1. Which one is the Front Seat Belt Pretensioner sensor?
2. I also tried to open the front seat, and I didn't succeed. Should I look just the connectors under the seat, or I should look also into the seat?
3. Does anyone of you have some manual of where I can find the sensors in my car and how are they connected? I ask in the Mazda shop, but they only gave me basec user manual, and in this manual I cann't find what I'm looking for.

Please if you have any other ideas, please tell me.

Thanks in advance
Best regards

Thanks for worshop manual, but here I cann't find electrical diagram for the sensors.
I tried to disconnetc the connectors under the seat, but it was very difficult, I just manage to disconnetc the one with 2 wires, and other one with 4 wires I didn't manage to disconnect.
What Am I supose to expect when I disconnect the connectors?

Thanks
