Okay so i bought a used 2005 RX8 GT gorgeous looking, red with red and black leather trim at a great price, so the car has no joke 92k clean as button, now the funny part when i have the AC on i can smell coolant,but i had mazda perform a coolant pressure test it passed as well when the car idles between 1pm and 0 it sounds as if it is dieing but it never stalls as well when the ac is on u can see that u get a big power surge the roof light would go very bright then go dim, so i fought with the dealership they have agreed to do a full over hall and to inspect the unit, since they sold me a car with extended warranty but they never did a complete check of the car before selling it to me, but the car goes it does go, and i have small knocking in my tranny.

but i love this car

you may have a weak ignition system. Do you know when the coils/plugs were changed?
Also, check the voltage of your battery. It's normal for there to be a surge of power when turning the a/c on.

What type of knocking in your tranny? When does it knock?

i just bought the car on Friday last week, all i know is i bought a full coverage extended warranty
as well i spoke to my guy from the dealership he is pulling all the records for me as well i spoke to mazda executive offices and they told me we will do what ever it takes to fix ur car, so Thursday
the GM of Mazda where i am will not charge me a cent to run a full over look of the car as well they will do a compression test and pull the tranny to fix it they tech said it could be a bearing or something as well i was looking under my car, i have a really bad tranny pan its spitting as on one side rusted as **** the other new looking lol

i should not say noise but feel when i shift from 1 to sec to 3rd there is a knock

Thanks i will i have an appointment thursday at 7am, but the sad part was the dealer told me that they did a check up and they did the oil change and coolant flush but they lied they also lied about the car being certified check, so i confronted the GM of Mazda and told him that this was not said to me when i first looked at the car, and then he said well i am not dropping 6k to fix it i will put in something else i then said no u wont u will fix my car whether you like it or not, so then i went back to the dealer where my friend is and the same GM apologized and said that we will do all we can to fix your car. my friend said after speaking to the used car sales department found out that they never said as is and lied to me he changed his mind.... and they he asked for a discount from my job Bestbuy hahah

so i just found out there will be 2 k worth of engine work to be done, as well
i will have to spend an extra 1k to have the tranny rebuilt but at lease i wont be paying for labor

so just an update okay so now i had the tranny pulled for sure the last driver did not know how to drive a clutch, he burnt the flywheel and smoked the clutch and pressure plate both flywheel and pressure plate was blue, then the transmission sensor was leaking,
then on top of it the rad had a hole from the res to the rad, so now they have to replace the rad,
as well i had them replace my fan belts replaced, so now it is costing the dealer 4k to fix everything

Well the list goes on lol so i had my Rack and Pin replaced my noise filter as well my ecu and alternate as well my which mind you was covered under my extended service plan on top of that i had my ssv replaced

yes i am glad plus i have great service at my dealer lets just say that we have a great relationship with great prices if you knew how much it cost me to change my ssv you would be in shock, and lets say that ssv job takes 2.5hrs but really ended up taking 5hrs but what i paid was amazing

Now i can say that my car runs smoother and quicker 10k later lol
