rx8 intake purge valve broken

The intake purge valve that's located underneath the intake is broken and I wanted to know will the car run if is broken

Broken, as in 'doesn't move'

or as in 'cracked off the manifold and causing a huge vacuum leak'?

Correct causing a vacuum leak..

But what if The leak is plugged and and the intake purge valve is disconnected will it cause the car not to run.
