What did I break?

I put a little bit too much oil in the car. I did check the stick ut was too generous when I poured the oil. My car spurted and nearly drowned, white smoke everywhere. CEL came on (Must be the O2 sensor.) Im getting it fixed asap.

Now just wondering will it ruin the seals? Or is there any kind of permanent damage to the rotary?

A lot of dealers slightly over fill the oil so unless you realy over filled I do not think that is your problem. The white smoke is a sign of flooding most of the time.

If your spark plugs are oil fouled you may have problems with them. They should be cleaned or replaced if necessary.
Your front O2 sensor may also be contaminated with oil, but that should burn off. If you have problems there though your MIL will illuminate, so you can afford to wait and see.
If you have large amounts of oil in your catalytic convertor you risk the convertor overheating and clogging. You can only really wait and see with that too. If it does clog you will suffer from hard starting and low power.
Internally, the engine will not be damaged by over oiling.
Hope this helps.

rotarys are essentially dry sump, so you really can't overfill.

sounds like a flood to me, but did you use the right oil?

Yes I did use the right oil but I used a little too much. Enough to drown it a little.
