aftermarket flywheel

aftermarket flywheel

has anyone done there own install on a aftermarket flywheel, i am installing a exedy hyper single clutch and flywheel and i got the trans and everything off and came to the lock nut on the stock flywheel, just wondering if anyone used something besides the mazda speciality tools to take it off.

Does the RX8 have a large nut holding on the flywheel. My RX7 did and I haven't got that far on the 8 yet.
Mazdatrix sells a device that fits over that nut and allows you to attach a breaker bar to the other side. It also provides a 10:1 torque reduction to make it easier to remove the nut. Don't forget to get the flywheel break.

well i made a tool to get the lock nut off now i need someway to remove the flywheel, it doesnt simply pull off seems to be pressed on ....any ideas

finally got it on ... these are the only pics i could get cause my camera battery died and i had to use my phone camera

I guess it's a little late but Racing beat sells the 1and1/8"hex wrench on a breaker bar, the anti-rotation bar, and the puller to pull off the flywheel.
