Tire/Alignment problem

I posted here a few weeks ago re: strange vibration/ noise coming from the rear of the car. After jacking both sides off the ground, I put the car in gear and let it idle. I checked both rear tires and noticed that the rear right had a flat spot. I also heard a fairly loud clicking coming from the rear hub.
To make a long story short...dealer performed alignment- said the rear end was out and replaced two rear tires. I had to go through a fair amount of B.S. to get them to even acknowledge there might be a problem. Apparently, me and dogs are the only ones able to here the tire noise/vibration.
So I get the car back with two scratched rims from the tire installation. They both had Mazda touch-up paint on them so the scratches wouldn't be so noticeable. Dealer tells me they can send the wheels out to be re-coated in about 30-40,000 km under warranty. They told me that because of brake dust, the finish becomes pitted and Mazda will do a one-time-only recoat of the rims. B.S. or what?
Am I entitled to new rims? If they drop an impact wrench on the hood, will Mazda send out the hood for warranty repairs? Don't think so.
What are your thoughts?
Thanks,
Rick

They need to replace your rims..and you can boot up the $$ to take them out for the tire swap..recoating the rims doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

I wish some of these guys would step up when they screw up.

Good luck

I appreciate the input. It's exactly like you said. Own up to a mistake and learn from it. It likely won't happen again. I would have been a happy customer if they just told me they screwed up and are getting me a couple of rims. Even if they asked me to wait for a few tnousand miles , I wouldn't have had a problem.
Thanks,
Rick
