Cool

75W90 for both of them most users swear by this stuff Redline

Here's the DIY I used there are a few of them on the forums but this one has pictures, I like pictures...DIY Gilbert!

I used Mobil 1 Gear oil (from AutoZone) because it was on the fly and I don't have my own garage at the time and a buddy let me use his garage that day, so I didn't have time to order Redline. I have 3 bottles left over if you want them! I didn't have time to change out my Diff and that bolt was being a beeotch, and you know what I do to bolts like that...I break em

I didn't want to risk breaking it.

To change transmission and rear end oils? I feel sorry for the next guy who tries to get the drain plugs out!

On the rear end oil weight...there's a TSB that gives alternate acceptable grades in case you can't find the official one listed in the owner's manual.

Oh come on Gil, this should be cake for you. A wrench, a rag, fluids and a drain pan are all you need for this project.

And a funnel and some large plastic tubing. Alternatively, a gear oil pump. Gotta get the stuff into the box somehow.

I swear by redline. I put in royal purple and it sucked. I then switched to redline and everything is smooth again.

Also, if you dont have an easy way to pour the oil in, I found it was very convenient to take apart the Shifter and pour it in the top.

take the shifter out and pour the tranny oil into the tranny, its a lot easier.

Do it in the following order

jack car, car on jack stand make sure its level (or pretty level), get your *** down, put a bucket or whatever to catch the tranny fluid, open the tranny drain plug, Go take a break and feel good about yourself for 15 minutes or so, go back, replace the plug's washer/gasket, put the drain plug back on, take the fill plug out, go take your shifter out, start pouring tranny fluid into the hole, usually 2 quarts will be MORE than enough, keep pouring until you starts seeing fluid coming out of the FILL hole, stop, get your *** down again, replace the washer on the fill plug, put the fill plug back on, put the shifter back. Go take a break.

For Rear diff, its almost the same except that you will need a hand pump to "pump" those gear oil into the fill hole, and MOST hand gear oil pump will NOT work with Redline's bottle, the bottle opening is too small and wont fit the pump's connector. either buy a hand pump that has a container itself to hold fluid, or have a bottle of Mobil1(Most Gear oil bottle will do actually, only Redline's are too small anyway) and use the bottle to "hold" your redline fluid so you can pump it (or just use Mobil1) I have a bottle of Mobil1 LS oil (75w90), so I just use it first, then I pour Redline's 75w90 into the bottle to finish the job.

2 things to remember. Transmission's drain plug washer/gasket shares the same part. but the Rear diff does not. The Fill hole of the rear diff uses a "copper like color" washer/gasket. While the bottom one uses the regular silver looking ones.
