Temp gauge

How high should it run? Reason I ask, when I test drove the 8 I came back on a fairly warm day and shut the engine down and the fan was running. Since I have had my 8 I don't remember the fan running after engine turnoff once and it has been in the 80's. The gauge seems normal at just under halfway. I checked the fan fuse and it is fine. I felt the engine a good couple of hours after driving and it was still warm but tonight I drove it about 12 miles and it seemed to cool off fairly quick. It was about 80 today but still seemed like it should have cooled down sooner during the daytime. I am getting ready to drive tomorrow over 100 miles roundtrip and I want to make sure its not getting too hot...

the engine gets very hot, but that is normal. i wouldn't worry about the long drive, the car keeps itself cool well on the road.

Thank you. I didn't think it was running wrong but a warm fuzzy never hurt
