Kind of concerned - hope I don't need to be. For the first time I shut down the car and the fan continued to run. Is this normal? I had just filled up with gas - got home - shut it off - got out and the fan was running. I got back in thinking something was strange - turned it on - shut it off and the fan started running. It's now about 10 minutes later and it's still running. Should I be worried? Is this normal? Had the car 2 months and this is the first time. Please help squash my fears......

back when it was actually warm up here in the great white north, I believe it wasn't uncommon to have the fan run after you shut the car off for up to 10 min.
... of course, I haven't actually heard my fan in about 5 months...
It's entirely normal - the fan is controlled by a thermostat and can sometimes run for several minutes if the coolant and ambient air are warm enough. Spring must be arriving in your neck of the woods.

thank you thank you for easing my mind. Actually here in So. Florida it's always spring and summer - sometimes as bad as the Amazon. We've had somewhat of a chilly winter here with cooler weather since I got the car. In fact now that I think about it, today was probably one of the hotter days in awhile. I'm sooooo glad I found this board. You have no idea how it has eased my mind to some of the quirky habits these RX's have. Like that clunk in the rear end when you start rolling forward? I was told it's the ABS system check - what a weird design. Thanks again.
Ithought it was a cool down system that comeson after the engine shuts down following excessive heat. I usually get it after coming back from a 100+ mph drive on thehighway that lasts longer than 2 minutes. Its alsostarting to get humid hot and shittyagain here in Florida soIm sure the weather outside will cause it tocome on more often in the next few months for me.
