Interesting... thanks.

I'm reading the thread about it on RX7Club.

A v8 miata is a worse handling miata. Same applies to any rx8.
The most viable alternative is going the FI route, less added weight for the same power outputs. You'd also retain the good powerband that makes both the miata and the rx8 enjoyable when driving.

There's no need to swap a big chunk of metal in to build a fast car.

A 350 or 383 is not a big chunk of metal and thats a lot of power for a light car thats fairly cheap and more reliable as well. A 350 equals almost endless opportunities and a hell of a lot more reliable and cheaper in the long run as well.

Why do an engine swap when you can do a BODY SWAP and loose some weight?

I don't think I want to get into a Miata with a V8 in it, simply because its not even a Miata anymore.

ppl keep saying its "oh more reliable" but seriously I have yet to see anybody can go thru 200K miles after the said conversion. While we already saw quite a few of the people who posted with over 200 K miles on the "oh so unreliable Renesis" (plus the people who never knew this forum?)

where did the "v8 conversion group" go ?

Either :

- its not their DD
- crashed
- car sold and never heard from the owner again
- or simply got numerous issue its just that the person who did it were too ***** to report back (just my guess on this one)

unless you're dealing with a total lemon, if your car(engine?) is not reliable, then you MUST did something wrong.
