RX-7 Engine Swap

Ok everyone...sorry to do this since I am a new RX-8 owner. I was wondering if you can swap the twin turbo rx-7 motor into the rx-8 or any rx-7 engine at that? Bash on me all you want...but I did try to search for it. Thanks

You'll loose the ecu which controls everything in the car. I don't see it as a practical engine swap.

It's not an easy swap.

The JDM JIC-Magic D1 Drift Grand Prix RX-8 car uses the 13B-REW of the RX-7 and puts out around 450-500 hp. But they had to modify the engine bay, because the Renesis sits farther back in RX-8's engine bay than the TT 13B-REW does in the RX-7.

If you are going to drop that kind've money, you may want to look at a 20B (3 rotor) swap instead. Big $, but a few shops have done it already

I think I've talked about doing a 20B swap and from what I was told, it isn't worth it because in comparison to the Greddy Turbo, the Greddy will put out ~230-240HP where the 20B will put out less power than that and both will cost about the same.

That is what I was told, but what do I know?

I think it's more a threshold thing. The 20B swaps of the 20B twin turbo units have been pushing 450-900 hp (in fully built mode). The initial engine isn't much to look out/performance, but a built 20B..lookout !

i think its a service they offer, and there is a thread with a link to their site. im far too lazy to find it though.
